Lessons on Liberty: Morality

Updated: Apr 14, 2023

“…only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

 Benjamin Franklin

1787

Control is as real as freedom. Man will be controlled: either he will control himself - or he will be controlled by others.

When man controls himself through a wise, responsible, and moral use of his freedom, it's called liberty.

When man chooses to be corrupt, irresponsible, and immoral with his freedom, he will be controlled by others, typically the government.

The more people need to be controlled by the government - the less free they will become.
