Family First Fact #1

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

Fact: Children do better when raised in a home with two married parents.

· They are more likely to attend college.

· Are physically and emotionally healthier

· Are less likely to be physically or sexually abused

· Are less likely to use drugs or alcohol and to commit delinquent behaviors

· Decreases the risk of divorcing when they get married

· Are less likely to become pregnant or impregnate someone as a teenager

· Are less likely to be raised in poverty

Why It Matters: Today, about 64% of children live in homes with two parents who are married. This is a drastic change from 1960, when nearly 88% of children lived with married parents.

What You Can Do:

· Teach your children about the importance of marriage.

· Educate yourself with facts.

· Defend marriage in conversation, online, in the classroom, and at the polls.

· Strive to raise your own children in a married home.

I'm Ajalon; mother of three, army wife, avid traveler and horrible crafter who is tired of all the negativity! So I write about politics, culture, faith and family in a way that leaves you edified, educated and empowered. (Yes...even about politics.)
